Product Care

High-quality garments require meticulous care. Not only does maintaining your clothing enhance its appearance, it also prolongs its lifespan, preserving fit, colour and craftsmanship for years to come. Our luxury black carrier bags include a washing symbol guide to assist with everyday care.

Important Care Note

We recommend following the care guidance outlined below and on individual product listings. Garments damaged due to incorrect washing or care, including shrinkage, felting, colour loss or distortion, cannot be accepted for return.

Labels

When removing neck, underarm or denim labels, please take care not to tear or damage the fabric.

Washing & Drying

Always check the garment care label before washing.

Wash similar colours together to maintain vibrancy.

Use a mild detergent and avoid fabric softener on technical or stretch fabrics.

Air dry wherever possible to protect fibres and reduce environmental impact.

Pressing & Steaming

Steam garments to remove creases without flattening the fabric’s natural structure.

Use a low temperature for wool, silk and other delicate materials.

Avoid direct heat on prints, trims and heat-sensitive finishes.

Knitwear

Wool, merino & fine knitwear. Hand wash recommended

Although some knitwear may be labelled as machine washable, we recommend hand washing to preserve shape, softness and longevity, and to reduce the risk of shrinkage or felting.

Washing

Hand wash gently in cool water.

Use a wool-specific or mild detergent.

Do not soak, wring or twist.

Rinse thoroughly and reshape while damp.

Dry flat, away from direct heat or sunlight.

Do not tumble dry.

Drying & Storage

Fold knitwear rather than hang it to avoid stretching.

Store folded in a cool, dry place.

Allow knitwear to rest between wears.

Ongoing Care

Gently reshape while damp.

Use a knitwear comb to remove natural pilling and keep garments looking fresh.

Pilling is a natural characteristic of fine yarns and not a fault.

Tailoring & Formalwear

(Pal Zileri, Hugo Boss, Paul Smith)

Brush wool suits regularly to maintain the fibre.

Hang jackets on broad, structured hangers to protect the shoulder shape.

Allow at least 24 hours between wears to let fabrics recover.

Dry clean only when necessary — excessive cleaning can weaken the cloth.

Heritage Outerwear

(Barbour & Belstaff)

Spot-clean waxed cotton jackets with a soft, damp cloth.

Barbour wax jackets should be re-waxed annually to maintain weather resistance.

Belstaff and other leather jackets benefit from occasional conditioning.

Keep all outerwear away from direct heat sources.

Footwear

Insert shoe trees to maintain shape and absorb moisture.

Use the correct brush or cleaner for leather and suede.

Storage

Use high-quality hangers to support garment structure.

Store items in breathable protective covers.

Keep garments in a cool, dry space away from direct sunlight.
